Mediacom North pick up their division two winners shield
Season three of the Creative League concluded with DFC taking home their third consecutive Division One title with an impressive twelve-point gap ahead of runners-up Great Fridays, dropping points only to Tecmark. Whilst in a thrilling finale to Division Two, Mediacom North pipped The Neighbourhood to the title by a single point. Final league tables can be found here.
We said a sad farewell to founding Creative League teams Return On Digital and Sons of CTI who unfortunately bowed out at the bottom of their respective divisions. Few may remember CTI’s impressive 100% start to the inaugral Creative League season, taking maximum points from their first four games, but recent results saw them fall as mightily as Leeds United as they slipped into the bottom division and struggled to replicate the form they showed at the beginning.
The end of season three also saw the first ever Creative League Tournament; a ‘league cup’ if you will. Eleven of the Creative League teams took part in the two-hour competition in the lashing rain, with Code Computerlove taking home the cup in a final contested with newcomers Late Rooms. The interesting concept - winning teams moved up one pitch, whilst the losers moved down - made for tense, open five-minute battles, often ending in sudden-death penalty shoot-outs.
But onwards and upwards as season four welcomes a change of format and four new agencies. With the addition of Skout PR, mycleveragency, Late Rooms and Better Placed Recruitment, a third division was created to supplement the new teams which would make for shorter seasons and more exciting promotion/relegation battles.
We have a feeling this season is going to be very exciting indeed!
